Lost Vehicle Title Bonds
The State of Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety requires any owner of a vehicle to post a bond if they cannot provide clear legal title. The bond guarantees that, if a clear legal title does surface, the bonded individual will either surrender possession of the vehicle to the titleholder, or pay the amount of the bond to the titleholder. The bond requirement is for a three year period, and the amount of the bond is established at 1.5 times the value of the vehicle as determined by the State of Minnesota.
