Effective January 1, 2010, the State of MN Human Services Dept. has required of all Home Health Care Agencies billing Medicaid for services to be bonded in amount equal to 10% of Medicaid billings, or $50,000.00, whichever is less. Titled MN PCA Provider bonds, these have been fairly difficult to obtain, but Associated Bonding is a viable market. To consider, we will need our bond application completed along with business and personal financial statements.

MN Dept. of Labor & Industry has announced that by June 30, 2011, the license period for all boiler licenses, plumbing licenses, and residential contractor licenses will be extended from one year to two years. Copy of notice can be viewed by clicking here.

The State of Minnesota Dept of Labor & Industry has increased the bond requirement of all Residential Roofers in the State of Minnesota from $5,000 to $15,000. All bonds will now have a common expiration date of March 31 annually.

The State of Minnesota Dept. of Labor & Industry has increased the bond requirement for Electrical or Elevator Contractors and Technology System Contractors from $5,000 each to $25,000 each, and has changed the bond form. The State of Minnesota Dept of Labor & Industry has changed the bonding requirements for Plumbers in the State of Minnesota. Eliminated are the separate Unlicensed Plumber and Master Plumber, as well as the exemption for plumbers working within municipalities with populations 5,000 and under. MN Mortgage Originators bond – The Minnesota Commerce Department is now requiring Mortgage Originators to be licensed. Part of the licensing requirement is a $50,000 surety bond requirement. Hennepin County Probate Bonds – Hennepin County Probate Court now requires a letter confirming surety pre-qualification of proposed conservators and personal representatives, due to an increasing number of appointments of individuals who end up being unable to obtain bonding.
