Special Administrator

Minnesota Statues 524.3-614 to 524.3-618

Minnesota Statutes 524.3-614 to 524.3-618 govern the appointment of a special administrator in an estate.  A special administrator is an emergency, short-term appointment by the court in response to a petition to a specific, limited power request.  An example would be a temporary special administrator being appointed on behalf of an estate to initiate and pursue legal action in a wrongful death lawsuit.

Underwriting Requirements:

  1. Copy of petition filed in the matter
  2. Some sureties require a bond application
